Mothers Day Fun

For Mothers Day my DH went out with the kids and bought me a new photo copier, scanner and printer. It is just wonderful! I am going to have lots and lots of fun with this! Yesterday (Mothers Day) I scanned lots of pictures. I am requesting copies of pictures from my moms mother. I just do not have pictures from that side of the family. My dads mother gave me lots of pictures, so I hove those grandparents pictures. My dads mother about 10 years ago went through her pictures and gave me some "just in case" is the way she put it when she gave them to me. My favorite I am going to print on the printer fabric that I ordered today and do some SRE around it. I have a blank wall in the house that needs some attention!

My DH's mother sent before she passed away, sent pictures of his family. I am going to work with those also and hang them up for DH. He seemed to like that thought. His sister might get some for her Christmas. Well any all and all I had a great Mother's Day.
Here are some of the pictures that I found and scanned, getting ready to print on silk and do some SRE motifs to:

This Picture is of DH's grandmother the one he did not get to know well. DH is the baby in the picture. The little girl is DH's sister Carol. I think that this is the one that I am going to work with first. As I think that Grandma Gaskill's picture means alot to David. I am currently trying to find a picture of Davids grandpa Landers, he passed away of cancer when David was still little. From what I understand Grandpa Landers used to take David everywhere with him.

This is my favorite picture of my Painter grandparents. I know that this is a 1970's picture (eairly '70's) but it is the one that I rember being in our living room growing up. I have more recent pictures but by and far this is my favorite.(I am still looking for my moms parents pictures.) I emailed Ginney today for their wedding picture. Their 60th anniversery is coming up! I would love to have their wedding picture.

Here is the picture of my darling son. This is his year old picture. It is hard to believe that he is going to be 18yo and a senior in high school this coming year. It seems like yesterday that I was changing his diapers. So this is the first of the childrens photos that I will work with.

It is just taking time to go through all of the memories and scan them to the computer. In the future they will be saved to CD.

Janies Block

I have put my finishing touches to Janies Landscape block. I made a vine on the fence I tried for a sweetheart vine. I am happy with how it looks. I just hope that Janie likes it. I also added to alot of treatments already done. I put in more water grass on the right hand side of the bridge. I also put in grass and flowers on the right hand side of the bridge, added to the fly stitch grass around the tree. I had a wonderful varigated floss called Noel and it gave the feeling of having flowers in the field. Then finally gave texture to the grass in front of the cabin with a varigated thread called Holly Berries, in french knots. It is going to be on the way to Leslie come this weekend. This has been an enjoyable RR. Thank to the ladies for letting me join in!

MY STEPHANIE

These pictures are of my darling Stephanie. She mainly did weapons in the routine. These first two pictures are of the begining of the routine. This routine is called Airwaves all of the young people worked hard on this routine for compitition.

These next pictures are of her on the weapons. She has been working hard on this routine and is getting better all the time! After the routine Steph and I sat and watched every one else preform their music. We had a guy who was on Americian Idol and is from Bastrop come in and preform a song. All the kids from 6th grade to the 12th grade did a fantastic job. Steph and I had a wonderful time!

It is hard to believe that she is going to be 16 on the 18th of May. The years fly by so quickly! When she goes to A&M I am going to miss her!

January Blocks

The month of January was a busy one. I had put together new CQ blocks, designed a block for a beaded challenge, and CQed two blocks. That was on top of working my job and being MOM'S TAXI. I thought I would share some of what I have been working on.

This is the first block that I had worked on in January. I did this block the second to the last weekend in January. I tried some variations of the feather stitch. I had also put on some purple Oyas. Lots and lots of SRE roses.

This is the second block I made. I CQ'ed this one the first weekend in Febuary. I used vintage lace on this one with lots and lots of roses. Yep that is a fairy in the middle.

As you can see the last two pictures are the two blocks made into Pillows. The second one is stunning with all the pink on the blue. The pink fringe I used is vintage fringe.
Well At this time I am working on my beaded challenge. It is due on March first. As soon as the voting is over I will be putting up the pictures.

MY NEW YEARS GOAL

I had been so busy in the late part of last year that I had let a lot of things go. Working on my blog is one of them. Soooooo, this year I going to try to keep up with it. I am also going to try new challenges. Just anything new. I want to say when this year ends that I have grown with my stitching and well in everything else also. I have signed up for a beady poem challenge that I have started but cannot blog yet. Also a purse challenge. That should take up the first part of my year.

On to what I can blog. The first Round Robin of the year is starting. YEEAAH!!!! I can not wait to see the block finished.

Here is My nekkid block for my Dreams of Spring Round Robin.

In earily December I had recieved my blocks back from the Sampler RR. I pulled them out over the weekend and started working on them. Here they are as I had got them from the mail. They are beautiful! Thank you Ladies all who had worked on them. I will enjoy them for years to come!

Here they are framed to be finished for a wall hanging. When they are finished I will post the wall hanging.

I am excited for the new year. It is going to be wonderful.
