A Little Tease

I have a project that I am going to tease you with a little.  I had started this about a year ago and due to pressures from work it had taken me a little while to finish it.  As I was working on this piece I could tell that it was going to turn out well.  I had told a few people about it and let them know that I was not going to show pictures until it was finished.  Now the little pixie in me is wanting to tease you with showing you parts of it before showing you the whole thing.

Here is the first picture:

First Block

Ok my first block for my current project is done.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  I am just not happy with any of the pictures that I have taken of it.  They have all turned out blurry.  I will show it to you any way.

Here it is:

I hope you can see at least some of the detail.

Well on to finish the pin keeper for Denise.

Christmas Stockings

Hard to believe it is the end of June and as we enter into the last week of the month my thoughts are turning to my annual Christmas Stocking Swap.  What to do, what theme should I go with this year.  Are there any suggestions out there?  Leave a suggestion in the comments and if your suggestion is picked I will send you one of my pin keepers.

Some People

I  was in Wal Mart today picking up milk and other items.  You know how some store visits go when you have a conversation with a complete stranger?  Well that is what happened today.  We were on one of my more favorite conversations.  A conversation about dogs.  Just an FYI the majority of my little babies are rescues.  Yes, this means that they are mixed breed dogs.  In the middle of our conversation this lady, whom I take to be a breed purest says to me; "All of your dogs are mutts?"  Really?  I told her; "No they are not all mutts!"  She says; "It sounds to me like they are."  At that our conversation started to deteriorate due to me really supporting animal rescues and the plain old mutt.  Before we finally parted she asked me what kind of pure bred dogs did I have.  I told her I had a pure Yorkie and a pure Scottie a Wheaton color one.  She exclaimed a Yorkie!  Did I know a good breeder?  I told her no but I do know a great rescue she could contact!

Please everyone, help keep animals alive, don't breed.  Adopt.  There are really pure breed rescues out there.  The pure bred dog is dumped just as fast as the mutt is and over crowded shelters euthanize them.  There are too many dogs and cats out there that are not fixed and having babies.  If you are looking for a great companion please contact a rescue or go to your local shelter.  Adopted animals make excellent companions and they have so much love and devotion to give.  Believe me I have plenty of love all around me!

Now I will get off my soap box and share today's pictures with you.

Guess What Day It Is?

Yes, it is hump day!  Well hump day for me has bee kinda on the lazy side.  I really have not been feeling the "thing" today but other than that I think it has been good!  I am getting a little bit done.  I trimmed my Lita today.  I don't think that I have told you about her.

I was driving home from work one night.  It was towards sunset due to me waiting on one of my employees to go over his yearly review.  I was following behind this red truck when I saw something get thrown out of the window.  I kind of thought for the moment that looked like a dog.  I stopped and it was a dog.  It was Lita.  I did not know what name they had given her but Lita is what I call her.  I picked her up and took her home.  Made a vet appointment and the rest is history.  She is one of my best friends.  Lita has a few issues probably due to her history that of which I don't know but we are working through them.  She does not like men.  She is afraid of the broom.  Afraid of all loud noises and really afraid of electric trimmers.  This is not a good thing as the vet thinks she is a designer dog, a Maltipoo to be exact.  I get to trim her by hand due to her not liking clippers.  My poor little girl usually looks butchered though today she went to sleep while I was trimming her.  That is a great sign!  Lita is now sporting a cute little cut as close as I can come to a Lion cut with scissors.  Lita is a cutie she does like to dress up and put on necklaces.  All I can get for her the little sassy thing!

Here are today's pictures.  I hope that you enjoy them.

Tuesday Pictures

I am now finished with work for the day.  It was awesome!  I trained on the register today.  My trainer was Kristen she has the most bubbly, up beat personality you would be envious of!  If you are ever in Bastrop, Texas stop by TJ Maxx and meet her.  She is the cutie up front.  I really have to tell you that I am so enjoying working in the same town that I live in.  I get off then I am at home and I have time to do the things that I want.  Like put up today's pictures.

Here they are!  I hope you enjoy them.

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday to all!  Last night I worked a little on my first block for my new project.  It should be finished by the end of the week then everyone can see the finished product.  I am so enjoying being able to do my stitching again.

I also want to say to all members of StitchMap I put the Teaser up on Saturday.  Please go and answer the questions for a GREAT prize.  This month the Teaser is on a very talented artist Candace Kling.  This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about her and her art!

Here are our photo's of the day:

Hello to all!  I have been quite busy today.  I was asked to stay at work until 9 last night so did not get home until late and this morning I took my youngest daughter to get her father something for Fathers Day. Then I came home and made the old man some breakfast.  Then after that I took my oldest daughter phone shopping at Wal Mart.  You can't stir the people with a stick at Wal Mart today!  Almost had shopping cart rage!!  As you can see I made it home okay.  I am now posting three more pictures as I had promised.  I hope you enjoy todays selection.

Cool Pictures

I have stumbled upon some really cool pictures that I thought that I might share.  They are public domain pictures that would really be cool to use in any of your art projects.  I collect pictures like these to use on my CQ and in the Media Art projects that I play around with.  Since I have so many I will post them 3 at a time.

Here are the first three:

Enjoy!

Something New

Can you guess what this is?

If you said the first three blocks to your new CQ then you would be right!  I started designing this crazy quilt last year in December.  It is for my CQ group that meets the 4th Saturday of every month.  (Yes, Renee I have arranged it so that my new job does not interfere with our meetings.)  These blocks belong to the first row of blocks.  I need one more color block and the row will be complete.

I have started working on the first of my blocks which is the green one.  As you can see I am using a vintage silkie on this block.

All of these block were designed to have a 6 inch doily added to the corners of the blocks.  As you can see from the above picture I have cut the doily in half so that I can attach it to the block.  I will also be adding embroidery to the seams and a bead and button cluster to this block.

As soon as I am finished embellishing this block I will post the pictures.

Okay, it really has been a long time since my last post.  It is hard to describe what I has been going through for the last couple of years with my medical career.  One of the biggest reasons that I have not been posting is I could never obtain balance with the job that I was working and my passion of Crazy Quilting kind of got pushed to the side.  The far side.  Especially since I was driving 2 hours one way to work.  On the road for 4 hours does not give you any quality of life much less time for an awesome hobby!  Plus the time spent working?  I ran the whole San Antonio site by myself for the last 5 years.  Well needless to say it really was time for a change.

Now when I change I really change.  I not only changed jobs but I changed careers.  I found a wonderful job with TJ Maxx.  This is an awesome company.  Not only is the company employee oriented but in these unstable times the company is stable to work for.  The past week has been totally wonderful!  Here is one of the best things about this new job they are only a  10 to 15 minute drive from my house.  I have had time to even cause Mischief on StitchMap.  I thought to myself this morning " What are you going to do with all your time?"  Well that all remains to be seen but I am happy with just being able work on one of my many passions, my CQ!

So here we go!  The first in many posts on my blog!
